Time for SKA bass!

In this course, you’re going to learn how to improvise and play authentic early ska bass lines in the style of Laurel Aitken, Justin Hinds & The Dominoes and Lord Creator.

This course goes back to the roots of SKA music and explores bass line composing and improvisation from grounds up.

Who’s it for?

This course is for beginners or anyone looking to dip their toes in SKA walking bass lines creation.

There are no specific prerequisites and once you complete the course you’ll be able to compose and improvise SKA bass lines on your own, over any backing track or chord progression.

This is a pratical course and I’ll share insights on how I composed these lines and give you simple strategies you can follow to come up with your own ska lines. That’s the ultimate goal anyway – to be able to jam SKA lines that sound like a real thing.

How To Get Proper SKA Tone?

Besides learning how to play ska on bass, you’ll also learn a neat bass technique for emulating the sound of upright bass on standard electric bass. Learn palm muting technique on bass to get pluckin’.
